Tips From Training Meet The Trainer

End-User Training Policy

As the demand for instructor-led training increases, Bosch is continually looking to maximize the number of participants in each of our scheduled courses in order to meet the needs of all of our customers. To help insure everyone who needs training has a chance to receive it, Bosch is introducing an end-user registration policy effective August 16.

When someone registers for an instructor-led class and does not have a current or valid customer number, the Sales Director or Sales Vice President will be responsible for determining if the registrant is eligible to attend the requested training class.

Tech Tips on G Series Panels

The below mentioned features were released in 7.05 Eprom revision – and they are the most often overlooked when installing any of the panels. Here are some tips to keep in mind during installation.

Exit Delay Warning Prompt: A# Exit Warning
When enabled, the Exit Delay tone at all keypads in an area about to arm is replaced by a fast Trouble Tone for the last 10 seconds. The Alarm Bell output also pulses ON and OFF for the last 10 seconds of the Exit Delay.

Entry Delay Warning Prompt: A# Entry Warning
When enabled, the Alarm Bell output pulses ON and OFF for the last 10 seconds of the Entry Delay.

Master Arm – No Exit Prompt: A# Arm No Exit
When enabled, this feature sets an area’s arming state to Perimeter Armed, as long as no perimeter points with delayed responses are faulted and returned to normal in that area during the Exit Delay of a Master Arm attempt. This feature applies to CMD 1, Passcode arming, Keyswitch, and remote master arming.

D5200
Please note that we recommend using RPS 5.7 and higher or GV2MAIN 1.03 handler for the D5200 programmer.

Keypad programming lockout
Is there a way to lock users out of keypad programming of the D2212?
Yes, it’s located in RPS and the D5200 under program lock. It will look something like this:
  • Program Lock
  • Default: No
  • Selections: Yes, No
Set this parameter to Yes to prevent keypad programming. RPS or the D5200 Hand-Held Programmer must be used to reactivate keypad programming. WARNING: Changing this parameter to Yes will lock you out of keypad programming. Changes to this parameter take effect when you exit programming (remote or keypad).

Note: This will not be found under program lock in the D2112

Max Strike Time on the 7000/9000 Panels
What is the max strike time that can be entered for the 700/\9000 control panels?
The strike time default is 10 seconds, but you can select anywhere from 1 to 240 seconds.

Joe Lamontagne brings over 36 years of security industry and training experience to the job. He joined Bosch in 1988 as a Trainer. Joe’s experience is apparent in the classroom and we consistently receive positive feedback from his seminar attendees including, “Joe has forgotten more about the security industry than most of us will ever know” and “Joe is a great instructor. Bosch should name a product after him.”

Joe says he enjoys training because, “I appreciate the opportunity to meet and work with new people, as well as renewing and enhancing long-lasting relationships.” In addition to training, Joe has been employed in a variety of positions through the years, including monitoring alarm signals, servicing alarms and management.

Prior to working in the security industry, he taught both high school and junior high school Social Studies. Joe also worked for the federal government and during this time studied Mandarin Chinese at Yale. He holds an A.A. in Foreign Language from Santa Monica College, a B.A. in Sociology from UCLA, and an M.A. in Sociology from Cal State Northridge.
